Terms and Conditions

Custom Delrin® VW Shift Rod Bushing Purchase Terms and Conditions

  • I understand that the Custom Delrin® VW Shift Rod Bushing is only compatible with vehicles under the following conditions.
  • 1)  Vehicles using a stock nylon bushing, part #111701259A
    2)  Vehicles using a stock 22 mm shift rod.
    3)  Vehicles using a straight shift rod.
  • I also acknowledge and understand that:
  • The bushing is a clearance fit, and the shift rod should slide through without being forced.  Forcing the shift rod through the Bushing voids the guarantee.
  • That my shift rod must be clean and round, not oval or bent out of shape.
  • EV4U is not responsible for any damages (to the bushing or the vehicle) if I attempt to install the bushing in a vehicle or on a shift rod that is not compatible as described above.
  • All sales are final.
  • Custom Delrin® VW Shift Rod Bushing is not returnable.
  • Please do not attempt to install this bushing unless you have the mechanical aptitude to do this type of work.
  • Guarantee

*If the Bushing fails at anytime while the original purchaser owns the vehicle that the bushing is initially installed in,
EV4U will replace the bushing or refund the original purchase price.  Off-road use voids guarantee. Bushings must be installed without grease or any other lubrication. Be installed on straight 22 mm shift rod. Bushing to be replaced must be returned to EV4U in order to be replaced under this guarantee. *Delrin® is a registered trademark of DuPont de Nemours, Inc. Delrin® acetal homopolymer (Polyoxymethylene POM) is the ideal material in parts designed to replace metal. It combines low-friction and high-wear resistance with the high strength and stiffness. Compared to acetal copolymer, Delrin® acetal homopolymer offers higher tensile strength, stiffness, creep and fatigue resistance, and significantly higher impact resistance.

Testimonials

I just had a chance to install the custom bronze shift rod bushing with the toolkit that you also
supplied.  Despite the excellent videos I must say I was daunted… but it turns out that I did
not have reason to be.  The process to disassemble and reassemble (shift rod, rear coupler,
etc.) took far more time than the actual installation of your part.  I have it all back together
now and the car is shifting beautifully with the lovely ‘click click’ you should expect.  Thank
you for such a quality product, well designed, engineered and with utterly flawless
instructions. Fast and cheap shipping to the other side of the world too!  I would recommend
this to anyone.

Best regards

I just installed the Bushing into my 1971 T182 Safari (aka Thing) and it works great.  Much easier to install than a standard bushing.

“I installed the bushing this weekend and it works great.
What an unbelievable product.
Every Bug and Ghia alive should have this upgrade.”

Put the bushing in my 72 Bug. Never realized it would ever shift like that. Good product! Steve in Kansas

From Samba Forum: “I put the bushing in my 1972 Bug. Wasn’t the easiest thing to do but it does shift quieter. Shifts better than new. Putting shifter back in was very easy to get it to shift, to hit all 4 gears and reverse. Best aftermarket thing I put in my car!”
